Auditioning for TV Commercials

DURATION: 1 day workshop

This fun and fast paced workshop will provide you with the inside ‘scoop’ on the casting process, and is for anyone interested in acting for the television industry. No previous experience is necessary. You will be taken through several industry processes which will give you the confidence to attend ‘go sees’, auditions and ‘chat to camera’ sessions and you will gain a comprehensive understanding of what makes the industry tick.

You will pick up the practical skills of knowing how to approach and work with a director and casting director and you will be able to introduce yourself in an original and creative way in order to make a lasting impression. Your valuable insight into the screen test process will further ensure your ability to perform confidently at all times.

This workshop will provide you with valuable information on:

  • How to take the next step forward
  • Marketing yourself to the industry
  • Finding an agent, determining good from bad agencies
  • How to catch the eye of a Casting Director
  • Representing yourself on AT2 and other websites
  • The purpose of a screen test and difference between various processes including chat to
  • camera and screen test auditions
  • How to improve your confidence and overcome your weaknesses

A certificate recognizing completion of the course 'Auditioning for TV Commercials’ will be awarded by Real to Reel Studios to graduating students.

You will also receive a high quality DVD of your performances during the workshop.

Chat to Camera Workshop
DURATION: 1 DAY WORKSHOP
COURSE CODE: R2R3209

 A fun workshop designed for new comers to the Film and Television industry that provides inside info on the casting process, allowing you the confidence to walk into any commercial audition and understand exactly what is required.
 
You’ll be given the practical skills necessary to enable you to approach a ‘walk-on’ or ‘chat to camera’ anywhere, anytime. You’ll gain the knowledge to distinguish between what’s required for a ‘visual only’ commercial and a speaking commercial; you’ll understand how to work with directors and casting directors; the purpose of a screen-test and most importantly how to grab the casting director’s eye and successfully market yourself.
 
This workshop will help you to gain confidence and combat nerves, and course participants will have fun with a variety of improvisation games designed to sharpen both senses and intellect. If you haven’t experienced improvisation before, be prepared for an inspiring and fun filled time that’s guaranteed to improve your ability to think on your feet – and we all know how necessary that can be in the fast paced world of film and television!
